I write that with love. The Robinson Film Center is screening the two-hour season finale of "Lost" on Thursday (May 29) in its big theater. I've seen a couple digital shows there. HD projection is pretty sharp.
The screening is free and begins at 8 p.m. (theater opens at 7:45). If you're feeling guilty, buy concessions.
RFC staffers want you to come dressed as your favorite "Lost" character. Is Alf on "Lost?" Or Balki? Since I don't watch the show -- I just lost 200 cool points -- you'll have to fill me in on the details.
Damn! I would so go if I was there! Im such a fanatic, that would have been a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteWhy did they (Robison Center) chose to skip the 7:00 "enhanced" replay of the last episode with the added footage???? I want to sit thru all 3 solid hours of LOST darn-it!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit scared of my readers today. Hold me.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if someone will show up as the Polar Bear or Smokey? That would be cool !I personally think they need a "Sawyer" look alike contest. That would get a few women there !!!! I would love to go, but I don't think the people around me would appreciate how much I "talk" to the show while it is playing, so I guess I will be there in Spirit !!!
ReplyDeleteMy plan was to be there, but the job is sending me out of town early (and I mean very early) Friday. My attendance will now be a last-minute "how much sleep do I really need?" decision!
ReplyDeleteSleep? Answer: None.
ReplyDeleteWe tossed around the idea of showing the enhanced version today, but earlier screenings and the need for us to be able to do the costume contest and other things will likely keep us from opening at 7:00 for the enhanced episode. We will see. Come early and enjoy a special edition Dharma Cola!
ReplyDeleteJust saw the finale.
ReplyDeleteGahhhhhhh !
I can't believe who ended up in the coffin at the finish.
I so want to tell everyone who hasn't seen it yet but i will give a movie-related hint.
The person in the coffin would make a horrible Stepfather.
Let the hating of Anonymous begin.
How'd the screening go, folks?

ReplyDeleteWe had about 100 people show up- two in costume (both dressed as Charlie). A boy won the free passes drawing and he was totally decked out in Charlie gear- guitar, glasses, knuckle bandages and all.
ReplyDeleteAs for the screening itself, only a handful of words can describe the wonderment I felt- not only because it was probably the best episode of LOST since the Pilot in 2004- but because the experience was boosted by the presence of other LOST fanatics. We were all laughing at the "inside" jokes and gasping at the unexpected twists. Even the sparse hooting and wolf whistling as Sawyer came out of the ocean half naked was a welcome commentary.
We all look forward to the Season 5 premiere in February 2009.
I had a great time. Thank you RFC and everyone involved for such a wonderful event!
ReplyDeleteHere's to hoping for many more to come...
