'The Story of Bonnie and Clyde' to shoot mostly in Louisiana, Mississippi

I just got off the horn with Tonya S. Holly, writer and director of "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde." It's a $15M, three-state project and will spend most of its eight-week shoot in Louisiana and Mississippi, Holly said. The project aims to commence production in St. Francisville (Angola prison) during mid-April.

"It's very organized, and it's not bouncing from state to state," Holly said. After completing the Louisiana shoot, "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" will move to Mississippi (based in Philadelphia) and finally Alabama. "Unfortunately, we can't go everywhere Bonnie and Clyde went."

Local crewmembers and history buffs will be happy to know that the town of Gibsland -- about 40 minutes east of Shreveport -- is still in the mix as a possible location. Bonnie and Clyde were killed near there in a shootout ... with the law!

Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers will star, and Holly is currently casting the final roles.

"I'm being very picky about casting," Holly said. Don't expect "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" to be a remake of the classic 1967 film. It's rather a new adaptation of a well-known story and legend. I took from our conversation that this project will delve deeper into motive, character and luv. "Of course I can't call it a true story. The only people who know the truth are Bonnie and Clyde."

More about it here and here.

I have a question Alexandyr Kent should investigate. Why does Cedric Glover designate a "Samuel L. Jackson Day" in Shreveport, but there is no designated day for a caucasian actor who has come to Shreveport and helped the community?
Kevin Costner performed a concert for Shreveport and he didn't get a "Kevin Costner Day."

I'm tired of racism against white people. It hurts our racial relations. Is Cedric trying to make Shreveport a Chocolate City?

And I'm tired of your racist comments and unfunny sense of humor.

I agree with Alexandyr. I am tired of the constant rant against the local government and the mayor. This is a film blog and not a political blog for you to vent your anger. Find another appropriate forum.

Even I have to say the comment was ridiculously over-the-top.

But, Patrick, the discussion of local personalities does have a place on this site --- particularly in those threads discussing the business side of things. Granted, Mr. Anonymous tends to rant more than discuss, but let's be careful about shutting down that discussion (while we all completely ignore posts like the one above).

As long as he keeps his appropriate comments in appropriate threads (not this one, for example), I have no issue. The snarkiness and pointless posts like the one above, though, are completely uncalled for.

The reason I walk that fine line is Mr. Anonymous has in the past raised some serious questions. Granted, his methods can be very unhelpful and undermining to his points. But the questions (in referrence to the film industry) about local authorities are serious and do have a place on this blog.

I wish he would stop being so forward in his psuedo-accusations. But there is nothing wrong with asking if the actions of mayors, councils, film bureaus, authorities, etc., are negatively impacting the local film business. This exact question is being discussed in an earlier thread. And, in all honesty, it should have stayed there. We can ask our questions (though they are not popular) in the correct thread, Mr. Anonymous. But to ever get answers will require patience and dignity -- not border-line racism and attack after attack.

You want to wildly attack? There are planty of places for that. You want to smear? Plenty out there, as well.

But if you want to rationally discuss these things there are appropriate threads in which to do it. But by consistently spamming threads with these remarks makes it harder to find the answers to very serious questions. Take it more seriously. Lay off the juvenile posts. And bring order and sense to our discussions.

Much more of this and even I will stop asking the hard questions out of fear I'll be booted along with you.... Get serious!

The post didn't appear to be racist, but to demonstrate the special interests of the city administration. Its a sad day in america when someone criticizing a questionable mayor is accused of being a racist.

"Is Cedric trying to make Shreveport a Chocolate City?"

That is the part that made it borderline racist --- just like Nagin was being borderline racist when he said it.

Do you have a contact # or email for that show?
