What juvenile claptrap. The SPD clearly harassed the wrong cast and crew. Still, glad it filmed here.
The Hangover beat them to the punch on this one. Strike one against Tucker Max's film being successful.
Mayeb the movie is misrepresented by the trailer... maybe?
Otherwise, blech!
It just seemed to be aiming at the lowest common denominator. I mean, I enjoy off-colored humor from time to time, but this was all just a little lame.
And everyone knows I'm the saccharine and low-energy bulbs of local filmmakers - I always look on the bright side and always have something positive to say - but this was just a little unfortunate.
This is my life every weekend. If I had a red $5 chip for every time I've heard "Dude, let's go see some titties!" I would own Tucker Max.
For the record he had a blast while filming in Shreveport and even posted on his blog about it http://www.ihopetheyservebeerinhell.com/fuck-whatcha-heard-shreveport-is-alright/
And isn't that what we're all about here on the banks of the Red River? Good Times Shreveport?
I remember reading in his blog awhile back . . . sort of complimenting the city of Shreveport and all but he did leave this thought:
". . . Make no mistake about it: I would never want to live here permanently. I get the feeling that it would get small quick, and the pace of life here is just too slow for me. And the place really is kinda run down. But as a place to visit and shoot a movie, so far I really like Shreveport.
Tucker Max "
Everyone keeps talking like they know this Tucker Max... Did I miss a new trend memo? It's not like he's Mika or Lilly Allen or somebody.

Okay - I know who he is now. So, he's sort of the misogynistic male Carrie Bushnell?
But he is TOTALLY right. The town is a kinda' run-down. I guess he didn't spend any time at the Shoppes at Bellmead on Youree. Ha.
@JB - I suppose he stayed where the bars and casinos are (since he mentioned both) and meant downtown.
In Lexington, KY (where Max grew up) has a bustling downtown with all sorts of shoppes and things to do. They have a downtown skate park and waterfalls that make the display we have here look like someone simply left the faucet running. I've never been to L.A., but if it's anything like what my friends say it is then I'd bet it makes Shreveport look run down.
You have to look at the facts here... many Shreveport downtown buildings are boarded up, defaced, and unoccupied which equals run down.
The Shoppes at Bellmead comment was sarcasm. I am well aware that Shreveport is a dump - with the terrible exception of the soulless sprawl over on Youree.
Of course, Shreveport is still home and I'll fight anyone who badmouths it too much. If they don't like it, they don't have to make movies here - Oh wait - They're not anymore!
