Get up to speed on the latest production news at the Louisiana Produces meeting. It's scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 2) at Bossier Parish Community College's Building D. As always, bring a pen and don't write on your neighbor.
The featured speaker will be Gary Strangis (pictured), who's been in The Shreve since Hollywood discovered us two years ago. (Lucky dog!) Here's his bio, courtesy the Robinson Film Center:
"This month's guest will be Gary Strangis, owner of TurnKey Louisiana. Strangis is a two-time Emmy winning Producer for the acclaimed ABC television series 'The Practice.' He has shared wins with his producing teams for the Golden Globe Award, the Producers Guild of America Norman Felton Award, the George Foster Peabody Award, the Humanitas Award, and been nominated for countless other honors from such groups as the Directors Guild of America. He was profiled in the book, 'Surviving Hollywood: Your Ticket to Success.' Most recently, he produced two Louisiana-based telefilms - 'Faith of My Fathers' and 'Not Like Everyone Else.' He also opened TurnKey Louisiana, a company that provides Hollywood’s latest in state-of-the-art equipment for filmmakers."
